Four musicians from diverse improvising backgrounds will play ALL.BY. THEMSELVES- unescorted, solitary, stag, unaccompanied, friendless, alone, unchaperoned!!!! Here's who they are:

Colin Langenus, of USAISAMONSTER, will be playing acoustic guitar, and singing songs from his forthcoming album.

Kaethe Hostetter is a 5 string electro-acoustic violin player who splits her time between Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and wherever her projects take her. As a child, she was exposed to traditional musics of all kinds – Mexican, Cajun, Balkan, Klezmer, Albanian – and a passion for virtuoso folk music has stayed a theme in her life throughout. It is no surprise, then, that Kaethe is well versed in Ethiopian music, leading to the creation of the successful groove outlet Debo Band, of which she was a co-founder in Jamaica Plain, MA, 2006. Currently in Addis, she has focused her energy now on her project QWANQWA, which is an experimental/traditional band with traditional instruments using effects pedals. She also works with a string quartet of local folks, and is writing string quartet arrangements of Ethiopian music. She is exploring the possibilities of violin in this new setting. Her myriad influences have resulted in a unique approach and sound, showing incredible technique, musicality, and the influence of a rich tapestry of genres and cultures.
Tonight Kaethe will be performing her works for solo electric violin, which are influenced by her time in Ethiopia.

Julia Holter, Nels Cline, Tara Jane ONeil, Xiu Xiu, Cibo Matto, Carla Bozulich, Good For Cows, and more, as well as working with elder luminaries such as Yoko Ono and Amiri Baraka.
He has played thousands of shows on 5 continents, including several major festivals, recorded on over 100 releases, and written and performed music for film, dance and theater.
Devin has also released two albums of solo and multi-tracked contrabass material, and performed as a solo artist throughout the U.S., Europe, Iceland, and Argentina.

AVA MENDOZA is a Brooklyn-based guitarist, singer, songwriter and composer. Born in 1983, she started performing her own music, and as a sidewoman and collaborator in many different projects, as soon as she was old enough to get into 18+ venues. As a guitarist, Mendoza has received acclaim for her technique and viscerality. Her most ongoing work is as leader of experimental rock band Unnatural Ways, and as a solo performer on guitar/voice. In any context she is committed to bringing expressivity, energy and a wide sonic range to the music. Mendoza has toured throughout the U.S. and Europe and recorded or performed with musicians including Carla Bozulich, Fred Frith, Mick Barr, Nels Cline, Jon Irabagon, Jamaaladeen Tacuma, Tune-Yards, the Violent Femmes, Mike Watt, and more. Recordings are available on labels Tzadik, Weird Forest, Clean Feed, NotTwo, Resipiscent, and New Atlantis.
Friendly critics have quoted: “It’s… Ava Mendoza’s deconstructing of blues and punk into brutal shredfests that’s causing a ruckus in NYC’s DIY hubs” (Brad Cohan, Noisey.Vice). “A wizard on a semi-circle of effects pedals, but… equally adept with FX-less technique," (Lars Gotrich, NPR). She was featured as one of Guitar World‘s “10 Female Guitarists You Should Know”.
