The Great BE is a reoccurring showcase of performance and video work by artists from the African diaspora, organized by Samantha CC. It stands for The Great Black Expanse. The project acts as a space where artists are encouraged to defy the stereotypes and expectations that the art world and the world in general place on black people and black artists. They can put blackness at the center of their work, or not. Each show has a different theme that the participants respond to.
